This stunning hardwood shield comes from the La Grange bay area in the Kimberley´s of western Australia. Shilds from this areay are distinctive because of their engravings with dreamtime motifs on the grip side. These motifs also resembles in the churinga from this region. It bears remainings of old ochre painting and is in an overall very good condition.
