This extraordinary churinga has been collected by Prof. Thompson in the Kimberley´s in 1870. The appropriate notes are from the dean of Australian Aboriginal art dealers james Davidson, who has sold that piece to the US in 1962. He indicated it as one of the most intersting pieces of Prof. Thompson. The wood is dense and finely grained and has a dark honeycolored patina and etched with exeptional dreamtime motifs on both sides.
